Manuel was born in San Felipe Guanajuato, Mexico, since he was little he stood out for his voice and singing, making him win various competitions. Wanting to develop this talent, he began his musical studies at the "Conservatorio de las Rosas", Mexico. There he finished his musical Baccalaureate as an Opera and Concert Singer.
He continues his musical studies at the National Conservatory of Mexico and works with the renowned vocal ensemble "Ensamble Solistas de Bellas Artes." Shortly after, he receives the "Plácido Domingo" scholarship from SIVAM (International Society for the Value of Mexican Art) and from Plácido Domingo himself. Thanks to this, Manuel makes his debut in Israel and Puerto Rico. From that moment on, he sings in the best theaters and festivals in Mexico.
While working on a new production at the opera house in Mexico "Bellas Artes", he traveled to New York to audition for the Zurich International Opera Studio. That same day, Manuel returned to Mexico knowing that his destiny would be to live in the city of Zurich, Switzerland.
Manuel Betancourt Camino begins working in Switzerland, participating in different productions of both the Opernstudio and the Opernhaus Zürich, alongside great singers and directors such as Leo Nucci, Jonas Kaufman, Piotr Beczala, Ramón Vargas, Juan Pons, Nello Santi, Franz Welser-Möst, Fisher Adam, among others.
After two years of working at the Opernhaus Zürich, he receives an invitation to audition for the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg and is invited to work there for the next few years. Manuel starts his new life in France, living there for the next five years and working in various productions and theaters across the country.
Currently, Manuel resides in Hungary, where he continues singing in different theaters and festivals, developing a versatile repertoire that ranges from traditional opera to popular music and crossover. From his new home, he travels to different countries to continue sharing his experience and his passion for music and the culture of various countries. His musical programs include a variety of styles, languages, and formats, as well as in large concerts and intimate events that foster interaction and connection with his audience.
