Senior Protection Coordinator

  • I worked as Senior Protection Coordinator responsible for the largest Verification project ever conducted globally with $40M budget to verify the data of 2.7M Syrians in Turkey. This is a politically sensitive project especially that the government counterpart is taking the lead of the implementation. I am responsible for ongoing communication & coordination with the Turkish government requiring a high level of diplomacy to ensure UNHCR protection mandate and standards are mainstreamed. I am managing the movement of UNHCR third party staff (550 staff) who are conducting the verification. Managing this huge project internally (with supply, program, protection, CwC, external relations) & externally with the local authorities, partners, community leaders & donors has given me the utmost experience of managing large programs at this scale.
