Summary

Dr Robert Gyula Almasi Associate Professor began my postgraduate studies at "Kaposi Mor" Teaching Hospital in Hungary and specialized in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. I held various lectures in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Pecs University. I was interested in acute and chronic pain management and joined the Institute of Pharmacology at the University of Pecs Medical School as an Associate Researcher in the Program of Neuroscience, Pain Pharmacology. In 2008 I received a PhD from the same university. I was the Head of Dept. of Anesth. and Pain Management. I was studying interventional pain management and ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blockade techniques, then joined the Institute of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Pecs University as a practicing regional anesthesiologist and pain expert and became a Senior Lecturer. I keep teaching various lectures and courses mainly on the topic of pain pharmacology, pain management, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, and lung US. I have been a member of IASP since 2006. With my colleagues and PhD students, my recent research interests encompass the effects of peripheral nerve blockades on perioperative and chronic pain, the role of US in peripheral nerve blockades, and the function of endocannabinoids in the conceptual model of pain modulation. As the chief editor, I presented a new comprehensive textbook [The Practice of Ultrasound in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. ISBN 978 963 226 677 0, MEDICINA, 2018 HUN] I passed the Examination (EFIC, Brussels, 2019) and have been awarded the European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM). I completed the habilitation procedure on 10th Febr. 2021. I'm the President-Elect of the Hungarian Pain Society. Scopus Author ID: 6507678841; https://m2.mtmt.hu/frontend/#view/Publication/SmartQuery/1127/ Engaging ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blockades, chemotherapeutic port insertion and interventional pain management with 15-10-15 years of experience, respectively. Assists department faculty in delivery of lectures and general classroom administration. Guiding young minds in growth for excellence in chosen field. Innovative Assistant Professor bringing proven success in implementing technology-based curriculum delivery and assessment tools. Passionate about fostering academic development and success for every student.
