I had the opportunity to do my Summer practice in Internal A which is the department of Endocrinology and Nephrology.

These are the skills I acquired:

• Conducted patient interviews and physical examinations to gather relevant medical histories.
• Participated in medical rounds, presenting and discussing cases with healthcare team.
• Assisted in diagnostic procedures and interpreted medical test results.
• Shadowed experienced physicians to observe and learn various medical procedures.
• Worked closely with nursing staff to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Collaborated with medical professionals in patient care, gaining practical experience in clinical settings.
• Took thorough patient histories within 15 minutes average.

• Medical students shadowed nurses. Tasks performed were as follows:
• Organising nurses scrubs
• Ensuring that patient bedding was properly done
• Taking blood samples of patients
• Taking blood pressure measurements
• Helping nurses in serving food prepared for patients.

• Performed laboratory cleaning duties including safe waste disposal, disinfecting surfaces and laundry management.
